E3 2018 Predictions

E3 is the biggest video game conference and showcase in the entire industry.


Game Reveals/Announcements

Starfield AKA Bethesda's Sci-Fi RPG. 95% likely.

Ever since the release of Fallout 4, Bethesda the game developer has said they have ideas for 3 new IPs they wanna do before doing Elder Scrolls 6. There's been whispers of it since late 2015.

Wolfenstein 3 tease. 60%

Wolfenstein: The New Colossus sold well and was liked by critics and fans alike. The final chapter will be coming (the sun gun needs to happen!), either this E3 or E3 2019.

Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall makers) new Star Wars game. 60%

A Star Wars first-person shooter. They're currently busy with a virtual reality project due for 2019.

Rocksteady Studios (Batman Arkham games) with a DC game. 70%

Rocksteady hasn't done anything since Arkham Knight, released in 2015, unless you count Arkham VR in 2016. It's likely a Justice League game.

Saints Row V/5aints Row. Will go back to roots of Saints Row 2. 70%

THQ Nordic bought Volition and said in a press release that they will be making a new Triple A game.


Doom 2. 60%

Likely a teaser. First one sold well and was very well received.

Borderlands 3 reveal. 80%

After Battleborn's quick death, Gearbox needs to be resurrected, and this will likely be the jump the company needs. Also will turn out better than Destiny 2.

New IP from Retro Studios (Metroid Prime). 60%

Watch Dogs 3 cinematic trailer. Or just a tease. 50%

Watch Dogs 2 sold even better than 1 and was even more liked.
Splinter Cell resurrected. February/March 2019 release. 80%

If Ubisoft can bring Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six back, Splinter Cell is next.


Dying Light 2 reveal. 60%

The original game is randomly getting monthly DLC's starting in January of this year, it will likely end with the reveal of a second one. Also, their Battle Royale game will be canned.

Creative Assembly game. Possibly Alien Isolation sequel but not likely. 50%

Alien: Isolation sold decently but was well loved for the aesthetics and atmosphere.

                                 

Halo Master Chief Collection PC announcement. 55%

With 343 randomly working on the game again this year, it's likely an Xbox One X patch plus release for PC.

Halo 6/ODST-like spinoff announced, for Xbox One and PC. 50%

Halo 6 will likely be shown to exist, after the mixed reception of 5.



Microsoft, big focus on backwards compatibility and Game Pass. 90%

They will show how cheap Game Pass, and say it's "the Netflix of gaming" over and over.

Fable 4 trailer. No gameplay. 70%

It's been rumored Playground Games, known for Forza Horizon series, is making the new Fable 4/reboot.

Crackdown 3, with a huge difference than before. 60%

First shown at E3 2014, and having huge promises and mixed reception since then, it will likely have been heavily reworked with a big emphasis on the destruction physics.




Bloodborne 2 announcement and trailer. 50%

First one sold incredibly well and got good reviews.

Last of Us 2 gameplay, of an emotional and action-packed scene. 90%

One of Sony's babies, this will get good coverage.

Days Gone, more gameplay. Shown more than Last of Us 2. 80%





Pokemon game for Switch. 90%

Animal Crossing Switch. 60%




Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay and cinematic. And no specific release date besides "2018/2019". 60%

It's CD Projekt Red's next big game, they'll show something.

Prey DLC. 50%

Prey was hailed as a System Shock 2 successor and will likely get more.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider gameplay. 95%

Square Enix will show Lara becoming hardened like you wouldn't believe.

Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer battle royale announced and shown. 30%

Rockstar doesn't do E3, but possibly Sony might advertise it.

Shenmue 3 gameplay. 70%

Anthem. Loot boxes and micro-transactions de-emphasized. 50%

EA is in the garbage and they're trying to crawl out since Battlefront 2.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 gameplay. 40%

Likely still on the backburner, but we'll see.

The Division 2 in Los Angeles. 60%

A sequel has been announced, but no location.

Rage 2 gameplay. Might be a reboot similar to Prey and Doom. 60%

We'll first get something on May 14, then see what happens from there.

Death Stranding trailer #3, gameplay, release date. Will be surprisingly close. 50%

With Hideo Kojima, who knows. He just does what he wants with the blank cheques he's given.

No Xbox One 2 or Playstation 5 announcements. 95%

With the existence of Xbox One X and PS4 Pro refreshes, there will be no new console generation starting up so soon.

Avengers gameplay (Crystal Dynamics). Comes out just before Avengers 3 Part 2. 70%

They'll want to get as much money and promotion out of it as possible.

Skull and Bones. More gameplay shown but looks really bad. 70%

Will end up looking like a lazy cash-grab.

Red Dead Redemption remastered/remade from ground up. 20%

With the heavy rumors of the RDR game code being spaghetti/Frankenstein, it's very unlikely.
